Qatar Council for Healthcare Practitioners (QCHP) has hosted delegates from the Oman Medical Specialty Board (OMSB) on a three day visit from November 6th to 8th, 2018 in pursuit of efforts from OMSB to develop and integrate their system and standardize their registration/licensing and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) system, as QCHP’s expertise is considered unique and pioneering in the field of healthcare. This has placed QCHP in a prominent position regionally and globally, which has prompted OMBS to work and adopt the same system and policies implemented by the Qatari counterpart.
Dr. Samar Aboulsoud, QCHP’s Acting CEO, welcomed the distinguished guests by addressing QCHP, including its vision and mission and various functional departments, all working to improve the quality of healthcare services provided in the State of Qatar. Both Councils emphasized that such meetings and visits are very important because it brings an exchange of fruitful experiences between both parties. QCHP expressed its recognition and appreciation for the Omani side for its interest in the healthcare sector in the State of Qatar.
During the visit, the Omani delegates learned about the Registration & Licensing System as well as the CPD system. A detailed explanation was also presented by specialists from QCHP about the policies and procedures established to regulate healthcare practitioners in the State of Qatar.
In conclusion, QCHP expressed its hope that this visit will contribute for further cooperation between QCHP and OMSB for exchange in experiences and visions. QCHP has always been keen to establish constructive partnership with regional and global healthcare registration authorities to benefit from outstanding experiences.
